Each year, as a prophetic voice to the Body of Christ, I try to take time to seek the Lord regarding what He has in store for the upcoming year. This is not just about being predictive, but rather so that we might position our hearts and our faith to fully cooperate and facilitate all God desires to do personally, corporately and in the earth.
For example, last year, 2025, I heard the Lord say we had entered a Golden Age of Awakening and a Renaissance of Righteousness. If you have been paying attention you will know we have entered one of the greatest times of revival and spiritual awakening of my lifetime. Barna Research publishes an annual paper entitled State of the Church. In early 2025 they marked a 12% increase in Americans who identify as followers of Christ since 2023. For a nation with a population of 350 Million, that computes to over 40 million new followers of Jesus in the past few years. Several other metrics have recorded a 41.6% jump in Bible sales, a 79.5% increase in spiritual app downloads and a 50% increase in Christian music downloads on Spotify. All of that was reported BEFORE the death of Charlie Kirk and the incredible surge in people attending church for the first time and those who returned to church after decades of absence. We are in fact experiencing an Awakening explosion of faith throughout our land and I believe in other nations as well.
Yet as glorious as this all is, 2025 was one of the most faith challenging years for many believers, Tom and I included! It was a year of testing on many fronts: personally, practically, professionally, politically, prophetically and even prayerfully. But in the midst of storms we have encouraged people to keep their eyes fixed on Jesus and His faithfulness and goodness towards us.
Part One
Don’t Get Stuck
I have sensed the importance of keeping a kingdom perspective, recognizing our journey is not about achieving personal comfort and ease, but about advancing God’s kingdom in the earth. To be clear: God desires to do miracles for us that will blow our minds…exceedingly abundantly beyond what we can ask or think. The struggle of the past season is producing a breakthrough faith to see God do more than ever before: more miracles, more family members saved, more prodigals coming home, more financial release, more dreams come true. But we must keep moving forward and not get stuck in any of the places of contending.
Part Two
Living Water
We must be people who know how to access God’s anointing, power, glory and sustaining grace regardless of what we face. In scripture, we find the analogy of water representing the flow of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Ancient people did not have life giving water delivered through pipes into their homes but rather had to be pro-active about accessing it. They did this in three main ways:
1). They Built Cisterns: Cisterns were giant holding tanks that captured the rain for use in later times of drought or scarcity. Rain is likened to that which falls from heaven in times of anointing, outpouring and the presence of the Lord. Spiritual rain is when we encounter the Lord in one season and that builds a spiritual reserve to carry us through future times. When we hear the voice of the Lord it can empower us to face much of what lies ahead. We have a saying at Christian International: Never doubt in the dark what you heard in the light! In biblical times empty cisterns that had no reserve were called pits. Joseph was thrown in a pit and sold into Egyptian slavery. Yet he carried an internal cistern of the Word of the Lord that sustained him in future times of trial. Again, at CI we like to say the word PIT stands for Prophet In Training!! Yikes! The Word of the Lord will try you, but it will also preserve you in times of drought.
2) They Lived By the River – The river gave access to fresh water, but people had to be willing and responsible to haul the water. They also had to be sure the water remained pure and untainted by anything flowing down from upstream. Jesus spoke of the water he gave as a fountain of water springing up into eternal life. (John 4:13-14). He also encouraged us that when we believe in Him, Holy Spirit becomes an internal, continuous source of living water that flows out of our innermost being. (John 7:38). This year we must haul water from that river of living waters into every area of our lives, stirring the waters by praying in the language of the Spirit.
3). They Dug Wells – Wells accessed the hidden waters flowing under the surface. When it was a dry time of no rain, if river water was not enough, wells brought a sustaining supply into the land. Again, the well must be dug then maintained and then water drawn up to water crops, flocks and families. Wells dug in one generation were used for many generations if maintained. There are wells built in the time of the Patriarchs that are still in use today. Wells represent a deep spiritual source of survival, encounter, inheritance and continuity. They symbolize access to the life giving resource of the Holy Spirit’s flow and the diligence with which we must keep the wells open.
I believe God is digging spiritual wells in families and nations that will set the course of spiritual awakening for generations. In some regards He desires to redig old wells of faith that have been filled in by the dirt of life and culture and restore spiritual inheritance. In others ways, He wants new wells of destiny dug that bring a whole new era of sustainable spiritual awakening into the earth.
Redigging old wells is about restoration.Digging new wells is about reformation.
Redigging old wells is about restoration. Digging new wells is about reformation.
Part Three
Welldiggers Arise
This brings me to what I am sensing Holy Spirit is requiring of us in 2026. As I prayed, the Lord kept having me read Genesis 26 for 2026. It’s the story of Isaac living in Gerar in the time of famine. He heard the voice of the Lord instructing him to live in the land and even plant crops there during a time of famine. God blessed him so abundantly it says he began to prosper, continued prospering until he became very prosperous. (Gen 26:12) This means he gained influence, positive reputation and power in his community. When this happened his Philistine neighbors became jealous of him and eventually the king asked him to leave. So he moved forward to the Valley of Gerar where his father, Abraham, had once lived and dug wells. But because the Philistines were so hostile, they had filled in all the wells from the previous generation and claimed the land as their own.
So Isaac redug the wells of his father and claimed new ownership in the land. As we will see, it was not an easy process but one that secured generational continuity. He didn’t just redig wells in the ground, he dug wells for his future. You see, wells also indicated ownership: they functioned as land titles. He who controlled and maintained the well owned and controlled the land. Redigging the wells gave him a lawful presence in the land, secured economic legitimacy and territorial recognition. Redigging the wells gave him the right to stay in the land and expand his influence.
As we become Welldiggers God is going to establish His people in their land on a whole new level.
Part Four
Isaac – A Prophetic Example
Isaac’s life is a significant prophetic picture for us this year. Remember, he was the son of promise, born to Abraham and Sarah when they were 100 and 90 years old. His life encourages us to continue to believe the Word of the Lord will come to pass regardless of how much time has passed as long as we keep our faith active. He was also a clear prophetic picture of the Messiah, Christ, who was to come. God tested Abraham asking him to sacrifice Isaac, his son of promise. God was asking him if he loved God more even than his prophetic promise. It’s a good question for us to ask ourselves this year as well, putting our complete trust in the God of our Promise. Isaac obeyed his father (just as Jesus did) and climbed up Mt. Moriah (the same mountain as Calgary) to willingly become a sacrifice. Rabbinical scholars say Isaac was approximately 37 years old at the time. This was not a picture of Abraham forcing Isaac to get on the altar, but rather him willingly laying his life down. He even carried the wood for the sacrifice just as Christ carried his own cross. For Isaac, God provided a ram to be a substitute. Christ became the Lamb of God, becoming the substitute for our sin and death.
So when we read of Isaac in Genesis 26 we can see a clear prophetic picture of God’s promises of supernatural blessings in super-abundant fashion, but also how God desires us to establish His authority in our land through the authority of Christ and through digging wells of living water everywhere we go.
Wells also represented places of divine encounters as Hagar met the Lord (El Roi – the God who Sees) at a well. They were also places of divine appointments and kingdom connections: Gehazi found Isaac’s wife Rebekah at a well, Jacob met Rachel at a well, Moses met Zipporah at a well, Saul was directed to the Seer, Samuel at a well. Jesus encountered the Samaritan woman at a well which resulted in an entire city hearing God’s message! Get ready for a time of divine encounter and divine appointments in 2026!
God is calling all Welldiggers ….reformers who are willing to do the hard work of dealing with the dirt that has stopped up the wells of revival, miracles and breakthrough. Welldiggers will know how to press past resistance, past the very real challenges and circumstances that want to distract us from kingdom purpose and the enemy that wants to interfere with us on every hand. Welldiggers will know how to keep moving forward, past the spiritually dry places when we may not even feel like heaven hears our prayers. We just keep digging! We are willing to dig past the hard places that want to discourage us, breaking through the hard rock to establish something new, lasting and at a deeper level of covenant lie than we have experienced in the past. We have to dig until encounter happens. We have to dig until water flows, knowing a well is not successful until the water flows. It will not be won by surface level faith or by performance. The water will only flow when we breakthrough to the deeper place of God’s presence and power.
When we dig a well it changes us, but also transforms the land in which we live. Our families are impacted, our schools, our business communities can be transformed.
When we dig a well it changes us, but also transforms the land in which we live.
Will you answer the call to be a Welldigger?
Part Five
Redigging Prophetic/ Apostolic Wells
First, Isaac redug the wells his father Abraham had dug. He honored the work of the previous generation and made it functional for the new generation. Sometimes before we dig a new well we need to redig the last wells and maintain them.
Those of us who helped dig the well of the prophetic movement back in the 1980’s and the apostolic movement in the 1990’s may find we need to redig these wells so that the waters can flow on a new level with the new generation that is rising. Christian International has been busy updating all the prophetic training materials we have used for almost 40 years, to make them more effective and relevant for the new generation coming up. We have established training conferences and even an online School of the Prophets to keep these wells open and flowing. The Body of Christ needs the water from the wells of the prophetic and apostolic to advance in this new season. They need to be taught how to hear the voice of God, how to war in the spirit, how to properly discern, how to interpret dreams and visions, how to bring the voice of God into their marketplace environment, how to cast out devils, how to release healing and miracles, how to function with integrity and walk in proper alignment with spiritual authority. Without these foundations we cannot move forward to dig new reformation wells for our future.
Part Six
Redigging National Wells
In the US – we are Redigging the wells of the spiritual foundation of our nation. We redig, reminding modern culture who we were born to be as a nation. We were born to be a Christian nation – born to spread the gospel to the ends of the earth. We must redig the wells of righteousness and overthrow the dirt of corruption, globalism, perversion, racism, anti-semitism and the anti-Christ agenda in the land. We must allow the spiritual waters to flow over our land once again.
We are going to keep digging spiritual wells through a very contentious mid-term election season. We need to hear the voice of God as Isaac did in Genesis 26.
People are going to be repositioned for greater kingdom influence and new prophetic, righteous voices will have access to the president and the highest offices of the land and within states and communities. God is sending Daniels and Josephs, Deborahs and Esthers to DC and to the places of government and power within the states. These leaders will carry the word of the Lord that confronts the Philistine spirit of opposition. Prophets will gain private access to President Trump and Melania.
As we explore the meaning of the names of the wells we will gain a strategy to contend for the nation in the coming days. God is moving us past continuous arguing, past the demonic agenda against the nation and bringing us into a time when we can see the righteous cause prosper in the land.
The dirt of the agenda of Antisemitism is boomeranging back on the enemy’s evil head. Though 2024 and 2025 were difficult years for Israel and the US Jewish community, there is a groundswell of support that will rise in 2026 and it will prepare the way for a new visitation for salvation among the Jewish people.
The dirt of the evil agenda of Islam in the nations is being exposed. People are waking up to the plans and strategies of the enemy to take nations captive through this demonic push. We will see a further disempowering of the Prince of Persia spirit that has held nations captive.
The dirt that has filled up the wells of righteousness in the nations is being exposed and removed. The evil and perversion that was once popularized and sanctioned, pushed and promoted is suddenly tasting like the dirt it is. There will be a growing distaste in culture for wickedness and evil agendas. We are living in a day when men call evil good and good evil. Yet, some things are getting ready to flip because of the prayers of the saints!
God is raising up national Welldiggers to bring new kingdom authority into the land. Let them boldly arise and take their place!!
God is raising up national Welldiggers to bring new kingdom authority into the land.
Part Seven
Contending And Moving Forward
Isaac redug three wells and each time moved forward until he also dug a new well. As we examine the names of these wells I believe we will have a blueprint for overcoming in 2026.
1). Esek – means Argument, but also to strive with, to press upon, to oppress. Both the Hebraic and Roman Calendar end with the number 6 which biblically is the number of man….this means people! We must move past the spirit of strife and contention with people and dig until we acquire a strategy that brings peace. But people are not our greatest problem! Our SELF is!!! This year we must come to a place of overcoming the arguments of our flesh. We have to get past the “whys”, the doubt, fear, unbelief, bitterness, compromise, apathy and disappointment that becomes the dirt that stops up the wells of miracles in our lives.
Isaac’s name means laughter. This year we will need to silence the internal arguments that keep us striving. We do this by stirring up and releasing the joy of the Lord. Isaiah 12:3 declares, “With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.” It’s a time to allow God’s joy to empower us, heal us and bring us into new dimensions of creativity.
Isaac completed the assignment of redigging this well and then moved forward. He didn’t get stuck. Don’t get stuck in strife with people. Don’t get stuck in internal battles. This is a time to get the dirt out of your well and move forward. Stir up joy and let it become your strength!
2). Sitnah – means hostility but comes from a root that means enmity, opposition, accusation, adversary, to resist, to attack and the root is actually the word Satan! This is where we will need to deal with demonic opposition and engage in spiritual warfare. Isaac kept digging even though the enemy resisted him. He knew his assignment and was not deterred. We must be equally discerning regarding our assigned battles realizing every battle is not ours to fight. But when we recognize our spiritual prophetic assignment and the enemy that withstands us, our greatest victory will be to accomplish our mission. Isaac didn’t get bogged down fighting the enemy, going in circles again and again. No, he just pressed through and did the job. Years ago God said to me we needed to shift our focus from battling to survive to battling to possess. This will be a year of spiritual battles, but also the victory of accomplishing our assignments.
How do we dig? Through weaponized persistent prayer (see Ephesians 6:18). Pray in the Spirit. Sing in the Spirit. Make decrees releasing the authority of the Word. Open your mouth with authority. Stand your ground. Once the well was dug, Isaac moved forward. Keep moving! Don’t get stuck going around the same mountains of spiritual opposition. Stay focused on what God has called you to do, get it done and move forward.
3). Rehoboth – means Open Space, spacious, enough, broad place. This was Isaac’s breakthrough well. Genesis 26:22 says he named it Rehoboth declaring, “At last the Lord has created enough space for us to prosper in this land.” The word proper means to become fruitful, grow, increase. We should all decree over our lives “God is creating enough space for me to prosper in my land!” This will be a time of breakthrough against all internal pressure, against the tactics of opposition of the enemy and against the hard, dry places of sickness, infirmity, oppression and difficulty. Finally, a place of peace and prosperity!
Yet here is another place we can get stuck! We can get stuck in the place of breakthrough believing we have arrived at our goal. This is the place we are tempted to settle rather than advance. We must remember, breakthrough is not the end of a matter it is the beginning of a new place of kingdom influence and advancement. Use your breakthrough to advance the kingdom. Use your healing or miracle to release miracles to others. Use your financial breakthrough to platform others’ breakthroughs. Use your encouragement to give courage to others. Use your fulfilled dream to empower others’ dreams.
Isaac dug this well of prosperity and then he moved forward and advanced!
4). Sheva – This well was the new well dug in Beersheba. A generation before Abraham had dug a well here. It was here he planted a tamarisk tree and made covenant with El Olam, the God who is outside of time; the God who keeps covenant generation to generation. When Isaac came here, he did not redig Abraham’s well, rather he dug a second new well, a double portion well. He was digging to establish the covenant in the new generation.
This well digging will result in a manifestation of a double portion season! Remember it was Isaac’s wife Rebekah that conceived twins after 20 years of barrenness. It’s time for all barrenness to give way to double portion blessing!! Decree it! Believe it! Receive it!!
When Isaac arrived in Beersheba Yahweh spoke to him and reaffirmed the Abrahamic covenant: ““I am the God of Abraham your father. You will never need to fear a thing for I am with you and I will greatly bless you. Your children will flourish and succeed because of the promises I gave my servant Abraham.” So Isaac built an altar, prayed, and worshiped Yahweh there. He pitched his tent there, and his servants started digging another well.” Genesis 26: 23-33.
God is declaring a similar blessing over His reformers, His Welldiggers. We do not need to be afraid as we advance for God is with us. He will bless us. Our children will flourish and succeed because of His covenant. Our response should be as Isaac’s to build an altar through sacrifice, to pray and have covenant relationship and to worship with our whole being.
Right after that the Philistine king came acknowledging that it was obvious God was with Isaac and that he didn’t want to be in an adversarial position with him any longer. While Beersheba was a place Abraham made covenant with God, it was also a place Isaac made covenant with his enemies.
This year we can expect to see some who have positioned themselves as persecutors of the cause of Christ to become propagators of the gospel message. It will be a time Sauls become Pauls! It will be a time when God moves on the hearts of those who have resisted and opposed us to suddenly come and desire to make peace with us. For some, these will even be family members who have broken relationship or cut you off. God is moving on hearts to bring a new and fresh place of covenant.
Part Eight
Spring Up Oh Well
The wells we dig this year will never run dry! They will provide the foundation for future generations to experience God’s glory, miracles, freedom and power. So dig…and keep digging past resistance until Holy Spirit water flows. Keep moving forward in 2026. Do not get stuck! Advance and expand God’s kingdom in a new way.
The wells we dig this year will never run dry!
Decree: Spring up O well!!!! Spring up O well of revival, O well of refreshing, O well of revelation, O well of reformation, O well of anointing, O well of appointing. Spring up O well of Covenant for me and my family in 2026!
